The Planning Board of the Town of LaGrange at its January 17 meeting approved a Public Hearing for the Shir Chadash plan to build a synagogue on their land on Freedom Road. The public hearing will take place on Tuesday evening February 21st at 730 PM. All congregants and other interested parties are encouraged to attend and lend support. Rabbi Gedaliah Druin, a sofer (scribe), repaired our Torah and made it kosher. Based on the style of the writing, he believes that the Torah was originally produced in Eastern Poland about a hundred years ago. The Torah was the very generous gift of a Shir Chadash member who wishes to remain anonymous.
