Our religious school is staffed by willing knowledgeable volunteers from the congregation. The children learn and have a great time. Classes are held two Saturdays a month during Sharing Shabbat. While the children are in their class, interested adults can join Torah Study with Rabbi Polish and then after a quick bagel break, we share in a short morning service. During the service, members share in a unique way in preparing a D’var Torah explaining an aspect of that weeks’ portion. The D’var Torah schedule in on the online calendar.
Sharing Shabbat Schedule:
9:00 – 10:30 AM Children’s Religious Education
9:00 – 10:30 AM Torah Study with Rabbi Polish
10:45 – 11:15 AM Sharing Shabbat Morning Service

Rabbi Gedaliah Druin, a sofer (scribe), repaired our Torah and made it kosher. Based on the style of the writing, he believes that the Torah was originally produced in Eastern Poland about a hundred years ago. The Torah was the very generous gift of a Shir Chadash member who wishes to remain anonymous.
