On Friday evening, March 10th, Congregation Shir Chadash celebrated Purim with a service highlighted by our annual Purim Spiel. This year’s production, Hamentaschen Holiday Hootenany, written by Rabbi Daniel Polish, belied our caveat “experience and talent not necessary” and delighted a nearly full house with this re-written and slightly twisted version of the traditional Purim story sung to familiar folk song melodies. The congregation provided the choruses in a happy sing-along that was enjoyed by all.
