Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Pledges are due at the beginning of each fiscal year.
We are aware that finances go up and down with employment, children in college, and a host of other financial commitments. Please note that our doors are open to all, regardless of financial circumstances. The amount of money you commit is confidential.
Conversely, this means that if you can afford more, please pledge more. Don't think of this as a business transaction, but rather as an act of Tzedakah. In the Pirkei Avot we read, "The world is sustained by three things: Torah, worship and deeds of loving kindness". Your act of Tzedakah to Shir Chadash helps us in our mission to sustain the world.
AUTO PAY is a significant benefit for our cash flow and it saves time and money for you and for Shir Chadash . We encourage you to use this option. Send a voided check, or your bank routing number and account number to TreasurerBernard Panzer and every month 1/12 of your pledge will be automatically deducted from your checking account.
PAYPAL is a third option that is convenient and low cost. If you have a PayPal account, it's very easy to set up a recurring payment. In fact, if you don't have an account, you can use your credit card through PayPal. Or, if you prefer, we can bill you.
STOCK
You can also support Shir Chadash through a donation of appreciated stock. It's easy to do and you can earn a tax deduction on the full amount with no tax owed on any capital gains. Please check with your accountant to see if this is a good choice for you.
NOTES
Second Temple category is for members who either belong to a synagogue in addition to Shir Chadash or are part-time residents of Dutchess County.
URJ dues
The first payment of each new year should include an additional amount of $27.50 for our membership in the Union for Reform Judaism.
